freezer light does not come on because the part is missing that detects if the door is opened. ice maker didn't work either. refrigerator works great, like the quiet motor.

my mother-in-law has this model. she has had three of the shelves from the door fall off. smashed jars and stained grout.
the shelves fall because they don't fit snugly. buy something else.

I bought this fridge just over 2 years ago and loved it. Everything functioned well at it looks great. After 1 1/2 it stopped making ice. Have not had it fixed yet since I do not want to spend a ton of money if it will just break again based on a lot of other comments I have read about Samsung ice makers.

Being a Samsung TV buyer I figured I couldn't go wrong with buying their appliances too. I made an expensive mistake and purchased all Samsung appliances for my kitchen and laundry room. Just the refrigerator alone has many issues. The crushed ice is not really crushed, the cubed ice comes out with crushed pieces and sometimes comes out all crushed, the dispenser is also extremely loud and sometimes I have to take the ice container off the door to get it to stop making grinding noises after getting ice from the door, the lighting inside is poor, the pockets on the freezer door are big enough to hold a frozen burrito and not much more, the layout is just very restrictive on what you can get in the thing. I can ALWAYS see the fingerprints on the black stainless and the water drips from the water dispenser and sits in the little shelf or dribbles down the door. Sure it looks nice but that's about it!

The unit is just over a year old I bought in August but delivery was in October the frig has never cooled , numerous calls to store I bought unit from call samsung , samsung says call store , frezze works well so paid full price for half a unit

Love the black stainless, do wish I would have gotten the model that was not black on the sides, but stainless instead. At the store, I loved that the ice bucket was in the door instead of the inside because it gives you more shelf space inside the freezer. I am finding that for my needs, the ice bucket may be a bit small. I adjusted the fridge shelves and discovered the only way they can be adjusted to fit a gallon pitcher is to either completely remove one shelf or use the top shelf by moving it down. For people who need the shelf space like me and can only use the top shelf for gallons of tea or water pitchers, it may be a problem if you have trouble lifting or have arthritis in your hands. My fridge was also delivered with a few dings and scratches in the door, so now I have find out how to get a new door.

The crisper drawers in the fridge portion do not slide in and out very easily. They get caught every time.
The water catch (below the water and ice ejector) should have a small reservoir to catch water and ice drips.

Overall really nice frig. Plenty of room in frig and freezer. Easy controls and displays. Only problem is the ice maker ehich has a plastic auger and is slow dispensing ice.

I have had this fridge less than 3 months and the ice maker has gone out twice already on it. The first time was within 2 weeks of receiving the fridge. Then it just went again the day before the 4th of July. Incredibly unhappy with this purchase. Do not waste your money on this fridge.

The black stainless steel is absolutely beautiful! Going from a french door, bottom freezer of a competitor, I was concerned about the interior capacity of the side by side. However, I am highly impressed with the amount of room provided in this refrigerator. Plenty of shelves and bins that are wide enough for trays of food. On the inside of the doors, there are numerous shelves/bins that are wide and deep that allow for significant storage of products, i.e. gallons of milk, soda, condiments, etc. I only use Samsung smartphones. Also have a Samsung Blu-ray player and a TV. This refrigerator is my first Samsung appliance and certainly will not be my last! I will be looking to replace my washing machine soon. After purchasing this refrigerator, I already know that it will be a Samsung!

Purchased this product in February 2017 but could not get the freezer door to stay level so it would close properly. Called Samsung and they replaced it with a new refrigerator within two weeks. I choose the same model.

This is the very first fridge we have had to buy and it was a great buy. My only issue is the water drips a couple times after getting water and there is no drip tray. Also, our water shoots out like a jet.

This is an exceptional looking refrigerator and works as advertised. My only complaint is the design of the drawers. They do not operate smoothly at all. The drawers should be able to be pulled out and pushed in without any effort, but these do not.

Love the look and size of the refrigerator. Not thrilled with the way the shelves adjust in the main part of the fridge. Not possible to adjust shelves to accommodate tall items without losing other valuable shelf space. The mechanism you push to dispense water and ice should not be clear plastic. Immediately it showed scratch marks.

This is the second Samsung side-by-side we've purchased in the past 5 years. We moved and missed our Samsung. The glass freezer shelves, 3rd drawer in fridge, led lighting, 4 wheels on the bottom and ability to read temperature at the control panel were important features to us. Had an issue with the freezer evaporator fan motor 3 years old in my last one (almost an identical model), but the features made it worth the performance risk. We bought the black stainless this time and besides being more smudge resistant than the normal stainless, it's also magnetic unlike my last one.

Well positioned clean design and durable Fridge. Would like to see easier functionality and ease of use on the ice maker. The Side-By-Side Door Ice Maker appears to present a challenge to numerous refrigerator manufacturers. When I received the fridge, I had to put more energy in figuring out the ice maker and ice flowing from the machine to the drinking cup.
Hope this is worked out in the future.

We just received our new refrigerator a day ago. The black stainless is very nice in our kitchen. Hard to position shelves if you have something very tall to store. But, we just got and still trying to figure everything out. All I all, it seems very nice. It took forever to get because our order kept getting cancelled because all of the items were not going to be shipped at the same time. Hopefully we will get the other two items in a few weeks.

I love my fridge. The only thing that kind of drives me crazy is the fact that there's no drip tray built into the fridge to catch any water that may drip when you use the ice maker and water. That was not a well thought out plan. Other than that, the fridge is great. It's quiet. You only hear it when the ice maker is replenishing the ice. But even with that, it really is quiet.

Until we explored the uniqueness of this style side-by-side refrigerator, My wife had made decision to never own another. However, after seeing the "indoor ice maker", the design of the "deeper" freezer & refrigerator area, the "extra" number storage drawers in freezer & refrigerator, She took a step back & compared to other styles, prices....this one came home with us. Refrigerator & Wife are quite happy. And me, the husband, is not one bit jealous! We love our new refrig & the slate door color is an extra bonus.
