We bought this product in 2020 its been a good fridge. The ice ball maker has never really worked though that was a feature that helped us choose this model. The fridge has stopped completely once and LG was great about replacing all the failed parts now it has failed a second time for the same problem. LG was great to respond said its covered parts and labor free of charge but the service company they scheduled demanded $125. for service call before they would even schedule the appointment. That is not fair for a warranty repair.

Great Refrigerator except for one severe problem

In many ways this is the best refrigerator Ive owned. It is thoughtfully designed the water dispenser doesnt drip a first and the ice cube dispenser puts out volumes of cubes from a unit that takes up very little space. The deeper than normal doors result in a shallow interior which is easier to access and those same doors hold a lot of stuff. This refrigerator has a severe problem. The Craft Ice feature that produces round golf ball size ice cubes has failed six times in three years. LG covered the first four replacement under warranty. After the warranty expired LG refused to replace the ice maker and I purchased an extended warranty $600+ to get a replacement. The fifth replacement was covered by this warranty but the icemaker failed again and LG did the most recent replacement under an extended the ice maker warranty which they must have instituted because of the terrible performance of the Craft Ice feature. LG knows they have a problem. There have been three versions of this ice maker and a firmware update as well to fix this problem. I received a version 2 ice maker after the first and second failure then a version 1 after the third failure. There was no reason this should have happened LG knew the version 1 was defective and it should not have been used as a replacement part. I was also told by a technician that the firmware update was not needed for version 2 and he did not apply the update. My latest replacement is a version 3 and that technician said the firmware update is needed and applied it. So the repair service Ive received is also disappointing. Dont buy an LG refrigerator with Craft Ice. Its a nightmare.

Love this refrigerator

I would give it definitely a 4.5 the problem was the craft icemaker died. But they did send a new icemaker for me to install. It was was easy to do but hard for older people to bend and do things that you need to do to get it installed. Lucky my wife is small and flexible she was able to help with installing because I am too big to get down in there. That is the only reason I give it a 4.5. It is a wonderful refrigerator with middle compartment to use as arefrigerator or freezer and the front door where you can open just the front half for drinks and I love the 3 round ice cube balls.

Great with an odd glitch

Weve had this item for just over 3 years. We love it however we recently had an issue where the refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling for no reason. To say the least we were unhappy about losing so much food. Ultimately after leaving it unplugged for an additional 24 hours per LG repair support allowing it to reset it is running perfectly again we hope that this glitch will not happen again. Without this odd glitch we would definitely have given a 5 star rating.

Excellent but for the Craft icemaker failing

I would give this refrigerator a5 stars except for the recurring issues with the craft icemaker which has now been replaced in 2.5 years the last replacement having been free as the first replacement was only 10 months old. Other than that it is a marvelous refrigerator and we are happy with it in every other way.

We bought this fridge and it has been a great replacement from what we had. Love all the features and the ability to have a Smart fridge. The icemakers in the fridge however could be better. The main ice maker just doesnt make enough ice at times. It takes a while. The craft ice maker in the bottom freezer we had issues with it. It was broken after a year and doesnt work. Hopefully were able to get this replaced in a relatively quickly matter.

While a nice looking product weve already encountered issues with this refrigerator. The craft ice maker didnt last a year before it froze up stopped working completely and is requiring repair. The regular ice maker often freezes up requiring us to chip it out and dump clumps of ice in the sink.

Good refrigerator but 2 negatives

Love this refrigerator. Convenient flexible accessible. Unfortunately 2 negatives: 1 Craft ice maker stopped working after 3 months and still trying to get it to work. Software update did not fix it so likely i have to thaw the entire freezer to get it working again. 2 The door device to fill the space between the two french doors is very sensitive and does not always close when the doors close.

Pretty But Needs Work - Not Recommended

Like the look of the refrigerator and the convertible drawer. But - weve had the LRMDC2306D for less than 3 years and its had the craft ice maker replaced 4 times. Thankfully I purchased the extended warranty - something I do not normally do. Other issues: the other ice maker binds at the corners where the ice drops into the bucket necessitating opening the doo weekly to dislodge. Im sure that the plastic locking arm is not designed to be opened this often so will eventually break. I just hope it does before the warranty expires. It also buzzes loudly at times.

Love the look but quality an issue

We love the look and overall design with drawer and doors but the compressor failed within 1 year and the ice makers dont work. We constantly have to perform a reset. Customer service is good but the number of times we have had to call and schedule service is problematic.

LG has leveled up our fridge game

Weve had it for about 1 year and it is AMAZING Having a 4 door French with drinks drawer has changed how our family uses our fridge. The Condiment area is great because we dont have to open a sealed/main door to get Pickles Olives Jam Salad Dressing. Lots of versatile shelf space/drawers and temperature is reliable. Craft Ice is a favorite and we use it everyday. The door ice is next level as well because it frees up shelf space. Our kids can access the drink drawer without opening the main fridge. All-in-all this fridge is a great buy to go with our LG ThinQ Washer and Dryer

We upgraded our appliances to black stainless about a month ago. We are long time LG people. The quality and functionality of LG appliances is amazing. This refrigerator has exceeded our expectations. The door in door feature is so handy. The interior not only is stunning it is so easy to keep clean. We are enjoying the craft ice but wish the container was small allowing for more freezer room. We are also liking the convertible drawer it is great for butter cheese and yogurt. Overall we would highly recommend this refrigerator.
