another replacement

The original beater lasted for years and years, but eventually needed to be replaced. I am now on at least my fourth replacement, and they average around six months until the paint starts chipping off. I even had my mixer professionally serviced to make sure there was no issue with the bowl height. I hand wash only. It seems crazy that the mixer itself still works great after 25 years, but I now have to replace beaters so frequently.

Like all the other reviewers the beater is chipping. My is chipped on the top and part way down. I don't like either of the options, painted or aluminum.

3rd Replacement Flat Beater
LSU Tiger

This is my third flat beater for my KP50PS and it did not last 6 months before it started chipping at the bottom. Must be a design flaw. Tossed cake batter after finding white chips in it and remade using my trusty hand mixer. Maybe time for a new cuisinart.

This is my 4th replacement blade for this Kitchen Aid mixer, I am so frustrated!!! I have not washed it in the dishwasher, I have the bowl set at the lowest point available, and the coating still came off the bottom of the blade and now I am AGAIN having issues with my frosting and cake batter turning gray on the bottom of the bowl. I also own a Kitchen Aid tilt head mixer and still have the original blade that came with it, no problem with the coating on it. I have four mixer blades that are now useless to me, what is wrong with your design???

Stainless please!!!

I spent some time today picking paint chips out of my cookie dough. I went online to see if I could buy stainless and the closest thing I see is burnished aluminum. I don't buy or cook with anything aluminum, so that's a no-go. I don't see why it would be that hard to add as an option. Most people would pay the extra cost to avoid paint chips and aluminum in their cookies.

I was so excited to get the kitchenaid stand mixer but was so disapointed that the paddle attachment chipped already. I only used it once and the coating has chipped the mixer works very well! I would recommend this once this problem is resolved.

I ask that Carol S. of the Kitchenaid ReviewTteam please stop asking the people who post on here to write another review and forward it on to their review department. I think if she would reflect on it a moment she could do something that would save both of us an extra step. She could send it on herself.
I expect better from Kitchenaid. The split in the coating leaves a place where germs can breed and be passed on to every batch of food mixed in the future. This would never pass a Health Department inspection in a commercial restaurant and does not pass my inspection either. So what do I do now Kitchenaid?

I am satisfied with the mixer but am not happy with Flat Beater because of the coating chipping. My search for a replacement has brought me to to this Review which indicates that you are having problems with this product. Is the problem solved? Do you have an alternative proven replacement beater available? I would only recommend to a friend if you have solved your problem

I was so excited to receive my kitchen aid mixer in the mail... unfortunately when I opened it both this beater and the dough beater already had the white coating chipping off! I'm super disappointed

We love our K5SS but have had to replace the beater multiple times due to flaky coatings. The last one we hand washed only, yet it has not lasted more than a couple of years. The plastic scraper beater breaks with heavy batter, the burnished one oxidizes. We would pay appropriately for a good stainless steel beater.

Look, I am a fan of Kitcheaid mixers, but cmon. Why is there a coating that comes off and why do the aluminum ones bleed grey? Would stainless not work? I guess finally finding a way to replace is nice but really, I EXPECT MORE and you should too.

Coating cracks and comes off

The beater works fine but I am getting ready to replace my 3rd one because the coating cracks and starts peeling off. Granted I've had the mixer about 13 years, but I would expect the beaters to last as long as the mixer. I'm getting the burnished one this time.

I have owned my KitchenAid stand-lift mixer since the early 80's, that's just about 30 years, and I love it! It included 3 beaters, the flat coated beater, the dough hook and the balloon whip. About 10 years ago the flat beater's vinyl coating began to crack but I didn't know how or where to get a replacement. Now I know how and where, but I would love to be able to get one that is stainless rather than the vinyl coat.
