4 April 2011

DENVER, Colo. - Appliance Factory Outlet & Mattresses, Colorado's largest independent appliance dealer, announced today that it is celebrating 25 years of providing affordable, dependable major home appliances to Coloradoans. From one appliance advertised in a classified ad to a multi-million dollar company, Appliance Factory Outlet has been supporting the Colorado economy and workforce since 1986.

The company started as a one-man operation in 1985 when CEO Chuck Ewing placed a classified ad for a washer and dryer set in the local paper. A year later he began selling refurbished appliances that he had reconditioned himself. Today it is almost a $50 million company that has expanded into 10 stores statewide, including locations in Grand Junction, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Longmont and six in the Metro Denver area.

In an environment where Fortune 500 companies normally dominate the market, Appliance Factory Outlet has become the largest independent appliance retailer in Colorado, growing consecutively each year. Today the company offers a full range of brand new appliances in addition to special buys, close-outs and out-of-box product with full warranties, saving the consumer 30 to 60 percent off.

"There's never a silver bullet or one specific thing that makes an organization successful," said Ewing."During the economic downturn, for example, our success stemmed from having quality employees, organization, and superior products which bring great value to the consumer."

The company held strong against the economic downturn of 2008 and has plans to move and expand stores in Aurora,Lakewood and Littleton to accommodate customer demand.

The company recently increased its product offering to include Serta and HGTV Green Home Organic mattresses.

"It has been an astonishing 25 years and we are proud to support the Colorado economy as a local retailer," said Ewing. "We are proud to offer brand new boxed products and special buys at a guaranteed better price and that we can truly save the consumer hundreds of dollars on quality appliances through our superior sales, delivery and custom installation service."
